Annette and Kimmie have happily agreed to host the first dinner get together of us all so that we can meet and discuss plans, make new friends and get info. We will plan our first dinner on either :
- Sat Dec 30th,
- Mon Jan 1st
- Tues Jan 2nd, 2007 (depending on which works better for the group)
as Mina and Cindy will be in San Diego and available to meet everyone. According to football freaks Kimmie and Annette the 1st is not the best day as there is football all day, I am sure Mina and Cindy agree.
The focus of our first dinner is to discuss the Zimbabwe leg, i.e. the houseboat at Kariba, Kariba Town, Victoria Falls and our white water rafting adventure and other fun things that can be done there. I have been in contact with the houseboat peops and am waiting for the info from them. I will just forward the info as I get it so that we are all in the know and can make decisions together okay.
At this time our actual departure date from SD is Wed Sept 26th 2007 so that those of you who have to plan way in advance can get planning. You can get there however you want but I am thinking that we will want to get to the houseboat as soon as possible to start relaxing which means that we all must get to Harare on the same day ( the 28th) to meet up for the Kariba trip. I will have more details about this at our meeting okay. I am sure we will have to charter a small plane to get to Kariba as there are no longer commercial flights from Harare to Kariba, but am waiting for a price and availability on this little detail. If not it is a 5 hour drive and rather dramatic and beautiful also.
